Heavy rains in Saudi Arabia's Jazan region yesterday (Sept 1) caused several high-voltage towers to collapse, leading to power outages in multiple villages along their path.
Residents reported that villages affected by this incident include Abu Al-Jahwa, Abu Al-Asrar, Al-Mahdij, Al-Halhalah, Al-Isha, Al-Hamra, and Al-Karas.
The Jazan area faced intense rainfall, resulting in the flow of several valleys and streams.
The Civil Defense authorities had issued warnings against approaching the bottoms of valleys and hazardous areas, and advised against taking risks by crossing them.
