The official representative body of Pakistanis residing in Bahrain is extending its best wishes to the community on Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day today.
Since being founded in 1993 by a group of prominent Pakistanis, led by Mohamed Afdhal Najeeb, Al Saqafa - the Pakistan Association has been catering to the needs of the community.
“I want the Pakistani community to stand out and be ‘The Best” and this is only possible with their relentless support and selfless commitment,” Al Saqafa chairman Syed Altaf Azim added.
“It’s time to pay back our community and contribute to the prosperity of Bahrain, our second home.
“Let’s leave our mark behind. Together, we rise.”
The welfare organisation and sociocultural forum has hosted a number of Urdu literary figures from Pakistan and is well known today for organising entertaining social and cultural events.
Over the last 30 years, the association has made a name for itself amongst the local social and cultural clubs by successfully presenting a number of literary symposiums and musical programmes.
According to the organisation, Independence Day symbolises the spirit and resilience of the Pakistani nation, reminding the community of the sacrifices made by their forefathers in the struggle for freedom.
It highlights the responsibility to uphold the ideals of independence and holds great significance for Pakistanis worldwide.
It signifies the collective journey towards progress, prosperity, and national unity.
“As citizens of independent Pakistan, we must reflect on the values and principles that were in the minds and hearts of those who fought and sacrificed for our freedom,” Al Saqafa general secretary Mohammad Ali added.
“As an independent and self-reliant nation, we must serve our country to the best of our ability.
“We must work wholeheartedly and diligently for the development of our beloved homeland and be an ‘Ambassador of love and peace’.”
