TENNIS – THE Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) has launched its women’s tennis training programme, in an effort to attract new participants in its activities for women and to introduce to them the basics of tennis.
The programme is being held at the BTF courts in Isa Town, and the opening events took place in the presence of BTF board member and national teams director Mohammed Salman.
BTF women’s committee head Jameela Al Nashaba confirmed that the turnout for the programme was higher than expected, necessitating the establishment of a fifth group for the participants – four of which are for beginners. She added that there is a waiting list for others who wish to take part. Those in the programme are of various ages and nationalities.
Al Nashaba noted that the programme hopes to promote tennis amongst women in the kingdom and generate participation at a wider scale.
Sessions are currently held in a pair of two-day schedules per week, including Sundays and Tuesdays or Mondays and Wednesdays from 8pm to 9pm.
The BTF’s certified and experienced coaches are conducting the programme’s activities.
