GULF WEEKLY-
British television series A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is out on Netflix today.
Based on the Holly Jackson novel of the same name, the show, directed by Dolly Wells, tells the story of 17-year-old Pip Fitz-Amobi as she investigates a five-year-old murder case of a local school girl and suicide of the perpetrator Salil ‘Sal’ Singh. She is motivated by her belief that Sal was falsely accused and the true perpetrator is still at large.
“It’s a proper whodunit, with a brilliant mystery at its heart but it’s also a mixture of genres. There’s lightness and comedy, but as the series progresses, it cranks up to an exciting thriller, there are even flashes of horror. It’s got a bit of everything,” screenwriter and executive producer Poppy Cogan said in an interview.
The 2019 young adult mystery crime novel was named one of the best books of 2020 by Barnes and Noble, and received several accolades including the British Book Awards for children’s fiction book in the same year.
