TENNIS – THE Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) announced the formation of its women’s committee, headed by Jameela Al Nashaba.
Committee members include Zahraa Baqer, Neela Al Mir, and Fatima Fakhro.
BTF secretary general Fouad Al Rowaie explained that the BTF board, under the directives of BTF president Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, is keen to develop programmes that will further develop the women’s game in the kingdom. These include initiatives to attract new members to the federation and encourage more practice in the game, while expanding the scope of cooperation within Bahrain’s tennis community, especially with the BTF hosting annual women’s championships at the local, Gulf and international levels.
Al Rowaie noted that the committee has begun drawing up their plans to achieve these goals.
