ENDURANCE – Shahad Waleed Al Ahmad, from Al Ajyal Stable, claimed first place in the Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Endurance Race for Private Stables, organised by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) at the Bahrain International Endurance Village, which covered a distance of 120km, yesterday.
The Al Ajyal Stable rider completed all four stages in a time of 4 hours, 41 minutes, and 8 seconds. Rashid Jameel Al Abbad, from Al Safanat Stable, finished the race in 4:47:10, earning the second position, while Nasser Hamad Al Qahtani, from RM Stable, completed the race in 4:52:33 to take third place.
Throughout the four stages, high speeds were recorded, with varying rankings during the first three rounds. However, Al Ahmad managed to finish first by crossing the finish line in the final stage and successfully passing the veterinary examination with her horse Bejoux.
Expressing her happiness at clinching the title, Al Ahmad said, “This achievement did not come out of nowhere but through the collective efforts of the technical and administrative teams, led by the coach of Al Ajyal Stable. I am thrilled with this victory, and undoubtedly, it will serve as motivation for us to achieve more accomplishments in future races.”
She added, “The race witnessed varying speeds and intense competition among riders, which confirms the remarkable capabilities possessed by the stables and riders. I congratulate our team on this victory and wish them further success and achievements.”
Shaikh Faisal bin Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa presented the cups and prizes to the winners in the presence of His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian works and youth affairs and Breef honorary president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The event was held under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Breef expressed its thanks to Shaikh Khalid for his sponsorship and support of endurance races. It also commended the notable collaboration between stables and riders across the various championship committees.
