“A total of 3,265 badges were printed to support and run this dialogue,” he added, referring to media passes, support staff, security and delegate passes printed for the event.
“We had 56 nationalities, 51 government delegations and 18 full ministers participating in this dialogue.”
Dr Giegerich also noted that more than 100 media professionals and eight broadcast networks covered the event, which took place at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain.
In addition, on social media, the IISS Manama Dialogue was mentioned more than 272 million times.
“Next year, we will convene here in the Kingdom of Bahrain for the 20th anniversary of the IISS Manama Dialogue,” Dr Giegerich added.
“We are already thinking about how to make that a great success and we are looking forward to working with you as we do that.”
