An annual summer awareness programme for workers concluded on Saturday with supplies being distributed to employees at the Nass Corporation Project at The Avenues in Manama.
The 12th and final week of the Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) Thirst-Quenchers 2023 initiative saw the distribution of water, laban, fruit, juice and biryani to labourers.
Guests of honour Indian Ambassador-designate Vinod Jacob inaugurated the event in the presence of Nass Corporation chief executive Shawqi Al Hashimi and Labour Ministry senior occupational safety engineer Hussain Al Hussaini.
Nass Corporation had recently signed an agreement with the American Mission Hospital to ensure the physical and mental well-being of their workers.
The summer campaign, in its eighth consecutive year, is organised by the ICRF from July to September. This year, it featured 12 weekly programmes where supplies were distributed to more than 2,500 workers.
Overall, the initiative has benefited more than 16,000 labourers since its inception in 2016.
