Doctors in a hospital in Singapore were horrified when they found an octopus stuck in a man's oesophagus after he came in complaining about throat pain.
The man reportedly decided to go to the hospital after he started throwing up after a meal which included the cephalopod. The man also found it hard to swallow food or water.
At the hospital, doctors conducted a CT scan to figure out what the issue was and found a super-dense mass in the man's oesophagus.
When doctors attempted to get a view of the mass by conducting a gastrointestinal examination, they were horrified to find the 8-legged stuck in his throat.
Initial attempts to either push or pull the creature out of the man proved unsuccessful. So the doctors then navigated the endoscope past the octopus, and managed to turn it around before pulling it out using forceps.
The man reportedly recovered well after the surgery and was discharged from the hospital two days later.
