Dubai Police divers recovered a $68,000 (approx. BD25,000) Rolex watch a British tourist lost on a yacht trip near The Palm Jumeirah.
The tourist accidentally dropped his Rolex Yacht Master into the water while swimming with friends. Five officers from the Dubai Police Maritime Rescue arrived at the scene about 5.30pm on Wednesday.
The police divers soon retrieved the luxury watch at a depth of 11.5m, despite the challenging deep waters, low visibility and varying currents, reported The National.
Hamid Alameri, a friend of the tourist, said that the watch on his wrist "snapped" when he took a dive into the waters. He realised it was gone as he came back to the surface.

Alameri posted a video to Instagram, showing the people aboard the yacht expressing their gratitude to the police divers for their efforts.
Dubai Police officials said the underwater rescue mission was all in the line of duty.
“Our aim is to help people and make them happy. We work around the clock to assist the people and respond quickly to help them,” they said.
