National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) chief executive Dr Mariam Al Jalahma yesterday received a Kuwaiti delegation led by Health Ministry assistant under-secretary for medicine and food Control Dr Ahmed Al Said. Dr Al Jalahma also gave an overview about Bahrain’s e-system for tracking and tracing the drug supply chain from the factory to the patient.
“The procedure enables the authorities to detect counterfeit medicines and ensure medicines are dispensed according to the required procedures, she said. NHRA medicines and pharmaceuticals control department head Roya Al Abbasi also updated the Kuwaiti delegation on the drug import approval system, which was established by the Supreme Council for Health in compliance with the government procurement system.
