A Chinese company has made headlines for handing out millions of yuans to its employees at a year-end party.
The money, which was stacked, reached about two metres high and almost reached the ceiling, according to South China Morning Post.
The spectacle was captured in a photo from a meeting organised by crane manufacturer Henan Mine, which racked up billions in profits in 2022, and decided to reward its employees with ridiculous bonuses.
"We held a sales year-end meeting on the night of January 17, giving 61 million yuan (BD3,394,148) in total to 40 sales managers," a public relations manager for Henan Mine told SCMP.
Three of the top-performing managers walked away with five million yuan (BD278,208) each and nearly 30 other members of staff received at least one million yuan (BD55,641), according to the Jiemian News.
During the event, employees also competed in a cash-counting contest, where they could take as many 100-yuan notes as they could successfully count in a stipulated time.
