Action plans for the next two years that include market studies on the health sector and the potential of the food sector have been unveiled by the 10 sectoral committees at the Bahrain Chamber.
This was announced after a meeting led by the chamber’s chairman Sameer Nass held detailed discussions with members of the executive and administrative body.
The meeting aimed at enhancing coordination and cooperation among the committees and keeping members of the executive and administrative body informed of the goals and objectives of each committee for the following two years.
Speaking at the meeting, the head of the committees’ steering group and vice-treasurer of the board at the chamber Waleed Kanoo underlined the role of the committees in translating the board’s vision and goals into actionable plans, that serve to revitalise the private sector and streamline its endeavours.
He revealed the chamber’s intention of conducting studies on the health sector, one on the impact of the national health insurance programme, Sehati on the private sector, and another probing the shortage in health cadres in specific specialisations.
Mr Kanoo also announced plans in the food security dossier, including encouraging the private sector to establish a food packaging and distribution factory, and a food manufacturing plant.
He also spoke about other projects pertaining to the education sector and matching educational outcomes to market needs, and commissioning a regulatory authority for the contracting sector.
