A Vietnamese death row inmate changed his name, got married, and had a child before being caught 42 years after escaping from prison.
Vo Van Ba, who was convicted of rape and murder in 1977, broke out of prison in October 1980 while awaiting his execution.
Arrested last week, Ba said he lived in the Kien Giang province close to where he was imprisoned for a whole year after breaking out.
He then moved to a province three-hours away from Kien Giang, living and working there for the next four decades.
During this time, he changed his name, got married and even had a child.
He moved along with his family to the Dong Nai province in 2013 where he worked as a brick kiln worker at a factory.
It is not exactly clear how the police were able to track him down after being on the run for so long.
