Manama: Al Baraka Islamic Bank - Bahrain won the prestigious Global Islamic Finance Award (GIFA) for the Best Islamic Bank for Treasury Management 2016.
GIFA is one of the most prestigious Islamic finance awards in the world, respected and sought after by leading personalities and countries involved in Islamic banking and finance.
The award was received by Al Baraka Islamic Bank board member and chief executive Mohamed Isa Al Mutaweh, at a ceremony in Jakarta, Indonesia, held under the patronage of Indonesian President Joko Widodo, and attended by a large group of ministers, governors of central banks, bankers, professionals and the media.
“This award is a certificate of our high-quality and innovative Sharia-compliant products and services. We are delighted to see the status of the bank and its reputation is enhanced not only in the region but across Islamic countries in all continents of the world,” Mr Al Mutaweh said.
He added: “I would like to extend my thanks to the organisers of the award, and my congratulations to the members of the Bank team on this outstanding achievement, where their sincere efforts paved the way for us to become pioneers in the treasury management industry in the region.”
