Police have made a number of arrests in a high profile case involving the assault and robbery of a Bahraini taxi driver.
Full details have not yet been revealed but the Northern Governorate Police Directorate said that legal action was being taken against ‘individuals’ allegedly involved in the incident in A’ali.
Habib Mahdi Hassan Taher, 69, was punched in the face and pummelled on the chest by passengers he had picked up on October 9.
The men, described as African expatriates, snatched his wallet containing BD325, bank cards, driving licence and other identification documents.
The Interior Ministry said that an investigation into the incident had been launched immediately.
