Bahrain’s employment indicators are continuing to improve, reflecting the positive impact of the Economic Recovery Plan on the labour market.
The overall number of Bahrainis who found jobs in the private sector topped 7,740 in the first quarter of this year, up by 32 per cent compared with the same period in 2021.
“The total number of Bahrainis employed in the private sector in January, February and March constitutes 39 per cent of the total target for the year,” said Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan.
He highlighted the updated statistics during Monday’s Cabinet session.
According to the minister, the employment rate in the financial sector soared by 184 per cent in the first quarter of the year compared with the same period last year.
The private educational sector ranked second in terms of rate of employment growth, soaring by 149pc, while the rate of employment in the industrial sector grew by 111pc. The minister noted a tangible increase in the rate of employment of university graduates in the private sector, specially those specialised in engineering and interior design.
