Oman's Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) has announced that it has rescued 30 people who were trapped in their vehicles in waterlogged areas in Muscat Governorate.
One expat who was stranded in his vehicle due to the heavy rainfall has died, the Royal Oman Police said.
The man, who was suffering from shortness of breath inside his vehicle in the Wilayat of Muttrah, died shortly after being rescued, it added.
CDAA said in a statement that the Authority's Operations Centre received 20 reports about vehicles being stuck in water bodies resulting from rainfall in the Governorate of Muscat, and rescued 30 people, all of whom are in good health.
