Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has approved the implementation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Gift for Dates Distribution Programme in 102 countries during the month of Ramadan.
Around 700 tonnes of dates - an increase of 200 tonnes from last year - will be distributed as part of the programme, that will be overseen by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance.
Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance Shaikh Abdullatif Al Sheikh expressed gratitude to King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for their support of Muslims worldwide, particularly during Ramadan.
The ministry has finalised logistical preparations for the shipment of dates, in co-ordination with religious attachés in Saudi embassies, Islamic centres, and global organisations.
