Saudi Arabia's Municipalities and Housing Ministry has proposed a new law to ban the sale of tobacco products at kiosks, grocery stores and central markets.
The proposal was among several draft bills published by the ministry on a public survey platform.
The ministry is seeking the public's opinions and views before drafting a final bill.
The initial draft also included several specifications vendors must follow regarding tobacco product sales.
They must comply with the standard specifications of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, and placed inside closed drawers, out of sight of visitors to the commercial outlet.
