MOTORSPORT – BAHRAINI rally driver Salman Mohamed has pulled out from the Dakar Rally 2025 following a severe shoulder injury.
Mohamed was one of two individual competitors flying the kingdom’s flag in this year’s event, currently being held across Saudi Arabia. Hasan Al Sadadi is the other.
The gruelling off-road challenge got underway last week and continues until Friday. Mohamed was competing in the bikes category on his #139 KTM 450 Rally Replica with the Cloudracing crew.
In a post yesterday on his official social media account, Mohamed revealed that his participation has come to an end, having been forced to withdraw after an accident during the race’s 845-kilometre third stage from Bisha to Al Henakiyah.
Mohamed said that he had to be taken to the hospital where it was determined that he suffered a tear on his right shoulder ligaments.
The 37-year-old expressed his disappointment with being unable to continue and thanked his family, friends, and all those who supported him in the race.
Meanwhile, Al Sadadi continues to compete in the side-by-side vehicle (SSV) T4 class in his #444 BRP Can-Am Maverick XRS Turbo RR. The 61-year-old is racing with his team R-X Sport and is in the driver’s seat alongside navigator Marcin Pasek of Poland.
This year’s Dakar Rally extends over 8,000 kilometres and it includes various stages that combine speed and navigation over harsh terrains. Today’s events will mark the 745km seventh stage, starting and finishing in the town of Al Duwadimi.
