The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Iraq affirmed that the two countries share deep-rooted historical relations.
This was stated during a joint press conference by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, and Dr. Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, at the conclusion of the 9th session of the Omani-Iraqi Joint Committee held in Baghdad today.
Sayyid Badr and Dr. Fuad underscored the great attention to cooperation and partnership between the two countries. They also sought ways to step up coordination about regional and international issues in a manner that serves their efforts to achieve security and stability.
The two sides expressed their aspiration for more fruitful cooperation that would enhance bilateral relations and support the aspirations of the leaderships and peoples of the two countries for a more prosperous future.
