A footballer headbutted his manager after being subbed off in a second-division football match between El Mansoura SC and Arab Contractors.
Ahmed Shaheen, a player for El Mansoura SC, refused to go off the field. A visibly angry Shaheen then proceeded to yell at and attack his manager, Alaa Nouh.
Shaheen played for 10 minutes before his manager decided to sub him off while his team was trailing 2-0. He started screaming on being taken off. A member of the team staff tried to contain his anger and held him off before he eventually escaped. Shaheen then ran to his manager and headbutted him in the chest before being escorted off in tears.
Following the match, the manager told Ontime Sports TV, "A player who does not abide by the instructions in a game will be replaced, None of our players are unexpendable. Players have to do what they are asked to do. If you don't, you are substituted, and that's normal".
Shaheen's brother went to social media to apologise for his brother's actions, stating that his brother is just 19 years old and is under a lot of pressure.
After this incident, Shaheen announced his retirement from football on his social media and apologised for his actions and the club.
