Indian Embassies in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia are looking for a man who was duped after arriving in Kuwait on the pretext of being hired as a domestic worker and then was forced to herd camel in the desert.
51-year-old Namdev Rathod from the Indian state of Telangana was reportedly offered the position of a domestic worker in a Kuwaiti house before being forced to herd camels instead.
The truth about the situation came to light when Rathod made a video on his mobile phone and sent it to the head of his district back home. The video quickly went viral, attracting the attention of the Indian Embassy in Kuwait.
The embassy revealed on X(formerly Twitter) that they had managed to get in contact with Rathod, but that he was now in Saudi Arabia. The embassy said that they were now in contact with the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia to ensure that Namdev could safely return to his home country.
