A female employee filed a lawsuit against a company seeking AED 500,000 for damages due to what she claimed were arbitrary actions and legal violations by the company.
The Abu Dhabi Family and Civil Administrative Court ruled in her favour, ordering the company to pay her 100,000 dirhams in compensation after terminating her employment on her first day.
The woman had accepted the job offer with a monthly salary of AED 31,000 and resigned from her previous position at the company's request. However, she was shocked when the company terminated her employment without explanation.
The court found that the company's decision to rescind the job offer without justification, after the plaintiff had resigned from her previous job, constituted a clear error on the company's part.
