SAUDI - Under the patronage of Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossary, the Ministry of Media, represented by the Saudi Media Academy, launched the Media Business Accelerator on Saturday in partnership with eWTP Arabia Capital, the Saudi Cloud Computing Company (SCCC) – Alibaba Cloud, and the Fujian Youth Federation.
The accelerator was launched during the Saudi-Chinese Media Entrepreneurs Forum, held on the sidelines of the visit by the Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial People's Congress to the Kingdom. The accelerator programme aims to assist entrepreneurs in the media sector by providing resources and mentorship and facilitating the exchange of expertise between the two countries.
In his speech delivered on behalf of the Minister of Media, Assistant Minister Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Maghlouth said that the Kingdom, under the leadership and support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, is working on shaping the most significant vision for the future in the 21st century, where media plays a fundamental role.
“Therefore, we take pride in continuing to enhance and develop the media sector industries, in an era where technology has become an international language, a key characteristic of humanity everywhere, and a necessary tool for understanding the keys to the future,” he said.
Dr Al-Maghlouth noted that the Kingdom and China share a rich history, deep culture, and ancient civilisation. He indicated that from this perspective, the accelerating technological challenges impose a new reality that must be addressed through a comprehensive system. He also highlighted the importance of this partnership in striving to develop joint projects, exchange talents, and transfer knowledge.
For his part, Managing Partner at eWTP Arabia Capital Jerry Li, which supported the event and brought 25 young entrepreneurs from China (Fujian), said: “As investors in both countries, we affirm that the Chinese government strongly supports bilateral cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, particularly in the technology and media sectors."
He noted that Fujian is one of the most important provinces in China, with strong ties to the Kingdom in economic and trade exchanges, and a long history of cultural and media innovation. Jerry Li affirmed that eWTP Arabia Capital has established its presence in the Kingdom over the past six years, aligning with the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative and Saudi Vision 2030. The company will continue to support and promote further cooperation and exchanges between the two sides in the future, he noted.
