Riyadh: Jasim Al Budaiwi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and Mauro Vieira, the Brazilian Foreign Minister, reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Gulf-Brazilian relations.
The GCC Secretariat General announced in a press release that this commitment was underscored during an official meeting between Al Budaiwi and Vieira at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in the Brazilian capital, Brasília.
According to the statement, Al Budaiwi conveyed an official message from Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar (Presidency of the Council), to the Brazilian Foreign Minister. The message included an invitation to participate in the inaugural Gulf-Brazilian ministerial meeting scheduled for September in Doha, Qatar.
The invitation reflects the Gulf Cooperation Council's desire to enhance its strategic relations with Brazil across various sectors that serve common interests, promoting benefits and shared aspirations among their peoples.
The Secretary-General emphasised that the Brazilian Foreign Minister expressed Brazil's keen interest in advancing its distinctive relations with GCC countries and expanding them to broader horizons. He also eagerly accepted the invitation to attend the first-ever Gulf-Brazilian meeting, affirming numerous opportunities to activate mutual relations and derive benefits across all levels.
