Honolulu - The surfer, lifeguard and actor Tamayo Perry was attacked and killed by a shark off the Hawaiian island of Oahu.
Perry, 49, died while surfing near Oahu's North Shore, said Kurt Lager of the city of Honolulu's Ocean Safety Division.
Perry appeared in the 2002 surf film "Blue Crush" with Kate Bosworth. He also had a small role in the fourth installment of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series.
First responders brought him by jet ski to Mālaekahana Beach, where he was pronounced dead.
