The Omani Haj mission for Hijri year 1445 AH left the Sultanate of Oman today en route to the Holy Lands.
The mission was seen off upon its departure at Muscat International Airport by Dr. Mohammed Said Al Ma’amari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, and officials from the Ministry. The mission is headed by Sultan Said Al Hinai. As soon as it arrives at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, the mission is scheduled to immediately head to its headquarters in Mecca.
During its presence in Mecca and Medina, the Omani Haj mission will serve Omani pilgrims, pilgrims who are resident of Oman and other pilgrims. It will also look after the pilgrims’ performance of Haj rituals.
The mission comprises 8 delegations, namely “Ifta and Religious Guidance Delegation”, “Financial and Administrative Affairs Delegation”, “Delegation for Supervising Haj Companies”, “Medical Delegation”, “Royal Oman Police Delegation”, “State Audit Institution Delegation”, “Media Delegation” and “Scout Delegation”.
The number of pilgrims from Oman this year stands at 14,000. As many as 13,500 of the pilgrims are Omanis, 250 are Arab residents in Oman and 250 are non-Arab residents. This is in addition to 31 licensed Haj companies.
