The fifth Taekwondo Korean Ambassador Cup is set to take place today at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
The event is being organised by the Bahrain Taekwondo Federation (BTF) in co-operation with the Bahrain Combat Sports Council (BCSC) and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the kingdom.
Athletes representing various training centres and clubs from across the nation are set to participate in the event.
BTF president Abdulla Isa Al Doy said he is pleased to be hosting the fifth edition of the championship, which aims to help in the further development of Bahraini taekwondo.
Al Doy added that combat sports in the kingdom enjoy the generous patronage and unlimited support of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in addition to the follow-up of BCSC chairman and GSA vice-chairman Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, which contribute greatly to Bahrain’s strong presence at the continental and international levels.
Al Doy expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Korean Embassy for their support to the sport of taekwondo in the kingdom and their efforts to build bridges of joint co-operation to advance the sports movement in Bahrain. The BTF chief invited fans to attend and enjoy today’s activities.
