An Al Naqda Embroidery workshop for beginners aims to train and prepare a group of Bahraini women in traditional art and embroidery.
Participants will learn how to create an embroidered piece besides different techniques to produce a design.
It takes place on Sunday (May 26), Monday (May 27) and Tuesday (May 28) from 4pm to 6.30pm for those aged 13 and above, in English and Arabic.
Terrazzo tray
A Terrazzo Tray workshop will teach participants how to make a Terrazzo tray, learn about cement materials, how to create colourful cement flakes and the method of mixing cement. Terrazzo is a composite material, poured in place or precast, which is used for floor and wall treatments. It consists of chips of marble, quartz, granite and more.
It will be held on Saturday (May 25) from 10am to noon in Arabic and English for those aged 14 and above.
Meanwhile, a Punch Needle Embroidery workshop will learn how to use a blotting needle to produce various works of art, such as embroidery on bags and making artistic cup coasters and medals. It is available on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, from 4pm to 6pm for children aged 13 and above in Arabic and English.
