JIU-JITSU – REZA Monfaradi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) Team’s Bahraini members Ahmed Al Nooh, Hassan Osama and Ahmed Fardan bagged six medals between them, including four gold, at the AJP Tour Doha International Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2024-Gi and No-Gi, held on Friday in the Qatari capital.
Al Nooh captured a golden double at the event while both Osama and Fardan each claimed a gold and a bronze medal.
Al Nooh was triumphant in the men’s gi, blue belt, master two 85kg class, after winning 2-1 on points against Angel Jaramillo Jr of the US in the final. He then claimed his other title in the men’s no-gi, blue belt, master two 85kg division, defeating Georges Tarabay of Lebanon 4-2 in the decisive match.
Osama achieved his gold medal in the men’s gi, blue belt, amateur 69kg category. He won by decision in the final against Abdellah Daifalla of Morocco. Osama added his bronze in the men’s no-gi, blue belt, amateur 69kg class after taking the match for third place via walkover against fellow-Bahraini Tareq Alahmed. Osama had previously lost to Daifalla in the no-gi semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Fardan came away with his gold medal in the men’s gi, white belt, master one 62kg class. Fardan won his final match 2-0 on points against Ruben Gutierrez of Ecuador. His bronze medal came in the men’s no-gi, white belt, master one 62kg category. He had lost his chance to vie for gold after losing to Gutierrez 1-2 on points.
Also as part of Reza Monfaradi BJJ Team from Bahrain, Brazilians Pedro Jesus and Samuel Ambrosio both took home a medal apiece in their respective categories.
Jesus won gold in the youth men’s gi, blue belt, 81kg division, whereas Ambrosio clinched a silver medal in the boys’ gi, teen, orange/green belt, 72kg category.
