ATHLETICS – Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) board members and Equal Opportunities Committee for Genders chairperson Shaikha Dr Hessa bint Khaled Al Khalifa visited the Al Ahli Women’s Athletics Club team. The team is currently training at the Bahrain National Stadium in preparation for the upcoming Women’s Arab Club Games scheduled to take place in Sharjah from Friday to February 12.
Shaikha Hessa was accompanied by a team of officials, including Fajr Jassim, who serves as a member of the BOC board and as the head of the Arab and International Relations Department, Salama Ateeq, who is leading the delegation, Wafaa Al Jazzaf, the deputy head of the delegation, as well as several members of the administrative delegation, along with the team’s technical and administrative staff.
During her visit, Shaikha Hessa observed the team’s training sessions and was briefed on the various stages of preparation. She commended the team’s readiness for the Arab Club Games, expressing confidence in the capabilities of Bahraini athletes to secure top medals.
She commended the dedicated efforts of the Bahrain Athletics Association and the effective role played by the technical and administrative staff in ensuring the team’s thorough preparation. She lauded the association’s rich legacy of achievements on the Arab, regional, continental, and global levels, which augurs well for the team’s prospects. She also extended her best wishes to the players for continued success in the upcoming competition.
