Riyadh: Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud was moved to tears as he saw his youngest son Prince Rakan bin Salman graduate from high school.
The Saudi leader patronised the 41st graduation ceremony of Riyadh Schools and honoured distinguished graduates who excelled in their field of studies.
Addressing the graduation ceremony, he commended the advanced level of education in Saudi Arabia, hailing landmark development strides in all sectors in the country.
“I attend this graduation not only as Rakan’s father, but a father to all the students,” King Salman said during a speech he delivered.
King Salman has made a habit of attending all his sons' graduation ceremonies, a sign of the importance the king places on education.
The King is honourary President of Riyadh Schools since they were established 47 years ago in the Saudi capital, reported local Arabic daily Sabq.
