'Mr Bean' star Rowan Atkinson moved into his £4.65 million North London cottage with his girlfriend Louise Ford. This just weeks after his divorce from Sunetra Shastry, his wife of 24 years.
According to a report in The Sun, inside sources have revealed that two have a really good rapport since they are both comedy actors and therefore understand each other well.
The source said, "Louise is doing really well with her role in Crashing and wants to be in more comedy roles while Rowan has been busy with lots of other projects. They work as a couple because they’re both comedy actors and understand each other’s work."
The source also added that being very private people, this public step was definitive proof that they were serious about their relationship.
The two went public with their romance in 2014, after his 23-year marriage to Sunetra Sastry came to an end.
The British comedian met Louise in 2012, on the sets of a West End comic play.
Atkinson, who is reportedly worth £70million, has two children, son Ben, 22 and 20-year-old daughter Lily, with ex-wife Sunetra.
Shortly before he met and fell in love with Louise, the actor revealed in an interview that felt a certain kinship with the lonely, single characters he portrays, saying, "I've played quite a few of these sad, isolated bachelor figures - Bean is the most obvious. And I think I do identify with them, or aspects of them."
