Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, a Filipino-German actress, model and beauty pageant titleholder has been crowned Miss Universe 2015.

1. She was actually born in Germany.
Although Pia grew up in the Philippines and identifies with that country, she was born in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, as her father is German.
2. She has been acting since she was 12 years old.
Pia joined Star Magic Talent, a modeling and acting agency for young kids in the Philippines, 14 years ago. Her television break came in 2002, when she starred in an afternoon TV show titled K2BU.
3. She is a fantastic cook.
Amidst being a model, actress, and TV personality, Pia also has a Culinary Arts degree under her belt. She is a graduate of the Professional Culinary from Center for Asian Culinary Studies in San Juan, Metro Manila, Philippines, reported Hollywood Life.
4. She has only been doing pageants for two years.
Pia’s first pageant was the 2013 Binibining Pilipinas. She impressively claimed the first runner-up prize in her first year, finally winning the title in 2015 that led her to the Miss Universe pageant. She could’ve easily fooled us as a pageant veteran!
