Riyadh: The Saudi Embassy in Cairo has dismissed any connection to an alleged voice message, which has gone viral on WhatsApp.
The message, attributed to an embassy staff, warns Saudi young women of alleged blackmail through social networking websites.
The embassy said that it had received many inquiries about the purported voice message. In this regard, the embassy disclaimed that none of its staff has ever made such a voice message.
It pointed out that any warning or precaution and information to be attributed to it and reckoned with, must be done through official channels, such as press statement from the embassy or via its social media accounts and website portal.
Accuracy and credibility of information have been reached through closely administered cooperation between the embassy and pertinent bodies in the two countries, it added, pointing out that it asserted the disclaimer for any information or individually circulated messages out of its formal channels.
The embassy, in conclusion, stressed that it would not hesitate to formally publish any information or notice, when the necessity arises, out of keenness to maintain the security and safety of Saudi citizens.
