Dubai: A group of 56 officers from the Dubai Police entered the Guinness World Records for pulling the heaviest aircraft in the world.
The policemen succeeded in dragging the Emirates Airbus A 380 plane, which weighs 302.68 tonnes over a distance of 100 metres.
Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief Major-General Abdulla Khalifa Al-Merri received Guinness World Records director Huda Al-Qassab, who presented the record-breaking certificate.
The event was part of the thirty-day fitness challenge, which was announced by Dubai Crown Prince Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum.
The former record was set at Hong Kong International Airport in 2011 when 100 people succeeded in pulling the 218.56-tonne Boeing 747 aircraft.
