HIS Majesty King Hamad issued Order 19 of 2026 establishing the King Hamad Global Institute for Justice.
The order stipulates that the institute will be established independently under the honorary presidency of His Majesty.
His Majesty’s Personal Representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa will chair the board of trustees.
The order also provides for the appointment of board members by royal order for renewable four-year terms and mandates the board to issue internal regulations governing the institute’s organisational structure, employee affairs, and operational procedures.
The order will take effect from the date of its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
His Majesty also issued Order 18 of 2026 on the establishment of the Council of Islamic Endowments Affairs.
The council will be chaired by the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister, with the following members: Dr Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Hajri, vice chairman; Yousif Saleh Al Saleh, vice chairman; Dr Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa; Dr Abdulla Yousif Taleb; Dr Abdulla Ahmed Mansoor; Abdulhussain Mohammed Ali Al Dhaif; Osama Abdulraheem Al Khaja; Ahmed Saleh Al Nuaimi; Abdulrazzaq Abdulkhaliq Abdulla Hassan; Shafeeq Khalaf Ali Mansoor Al Sharqi; Mohammed bin Saeed Al Mansoori; and Maher Alawi Al Sayed Khalaf Mahfouz.
The term of members will be four years. The order will come into effect from the date of its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
His Majesty issued Decree 31 of 2026 on establishing and regulating the Council of Islamic Endowments Affairs.
The decree establishes a new body called the Islamic Endowments Affairs Council, attached to the minister responsible for Islamic affairs and endowments. It gives the council the independence to manage endowments, invest in their assets, distribute their income, preserve their properties, and oversee them according to Islamic law.
The Prime Minister and Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister will implement the provisions of this decree, which shall take effect from the date of its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
His Majesty also issued Decree 32 of 2026 restructuring Islamic Endowments Affairs.
