Video was released this week of a World War II-era seaplane making an emergency landing on a street in Phoenix, Arizona in April.
The video shows the plane flying over the city as it began to lose altitude. It goes onto show the plane's hard landing and the three passengers emerging uninjured.
According to a local news report, the video was filmed by a camera mounted on the plane's wing.
Channel 12 News in Phoenix reported that the plane was flying smoothly until the engine made a noise and smoke started filling the cockpit over the city. Pilot Make Tragarz scanned for a landing area, and settled on an empty street.
The news report stated that an National Transportation Safety Board investigation is ongoing, but early findings suggest that the engine exhaust tailpipe separated from the manifold.
The passengers told Channel 12 that the video would be used in future pilot training.
