HORSERACING – PRIME Minister’s Court Minister and Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) High Committee chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa met yesterday with King Charles III as he attended the King’s Cup and the Royal Windsor Endurance, supported by Bahrain, held as part of the Royal Windsor Horse Show in the UK.
Shaikh Isa conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, along with their wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the UK.
Shaikh Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa was also in attendance.
Shaikh Isa affirmed the longstanding relationship between Bahrain and the UK, which is founded on strategic partnerships across various sectors, reflecting the deep-rooted historical bonds between the two kingdoms.
Shaikh Isa noted that Bahrain, under the leadership of the King and the directives of HRH Prince Salman, is committed to developing its equestrian and horseracing sector.
Shaikh Isa also presented the awards to the events’ winners yesterday.
British jockey Ben Maher won the Kingdom of Bahrain Stakes for the King’s Cup; while in the Royal Windsor Endurance, supported by Bahrain, Emirati jockey Saeed Ahmed Al Marri secured first place in the 120-kilometre ride and his countryman Saeed Mohammed Al Mehairi triumphed in the 100km race.
