Proposed amendments to marital laws in Egypt will allow a wife to annul a marriage within six months if specific conditions are met.
If the changes come into effect, a wife will have the right to annul the marriage through judicial measures within a period not exceeding six months. However, such action can only be taken if it is proven that she married her husband based on false information or deception, and the marriage has not resulted in pregnancy or birth.
The amendments aim to reinforce familial rights and build a family structure based on friendliness, mercy and shared responsibility.
