Sandstorms battered parts of the kingdom yesterday, driven by strong northwesterly winds of up to 27 knots, significantly reducing visibility on the roads.
The General Directorate of Traffic urged motorists to exercise caution, remain focused, stay within their lanes, and adhere to speed limits.
Drivers were further advised to maintain safe distances between vehicles and avoid reckless overtaking, given the hazardous conditions.
The sandstorm developed in the afternoon and persisted into the evening, following a morning marked by thundery showers and powerful wind gusts.
Temperatures, meanwhile, ranged between 14C and 21C throughout the day, with humidity reaching 90 per cent at times.
Strong northwesterly winds are expected to continue today, potentially reaching 25 knots, with temperatures ranging between 12C and 18C.
The cold spell is forecast to persist throughout the week, with temperatures expected to drop to 11C tomorrow and Wednesday.
