TABLE TENNIS – Bahrain’s Ali Mohamed went down fighting in five games yesterday against Abdulaziz Al Abdulla from Qatar in their boys’ singles second round match-up in table tennis in the third Asian Youth Games. Mohamed secured one victory from his two matches on Monday to advance from their competition’s group stage, setting up his elimination clash against Al Abdulla.
Mohamed took the lead twice in the contest after winning the first and third games, but was unlucky not to close out the match in a tough 12-10, 7-11, 11-9, 7-11, 11-13 result. Al Abdulla marched through to the round of 32.
