Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Yasser Humaidan yesterday inaugurated five ultra-fast electric vehicle charging stations, marking a key step in Bahrain’s transition to clean and sustainable transport.
Located in Diyar Al Muharraq, the Avenues, Adliya, Liwan and Durrat Al Bahrain, the stations can charge vehicles up to 80 per cent in under 15 minutes, making them among the fastest in the region.
To encourage adoption, charging will be free for six months.
The ministry also launched a mobile app to help users locate charging stations, track availability in real time and make digital payments as part of efforts to modernise services and advance sustainable mobility.
