Kuwaiti customs inspectors arrested an Iraqi woman for attempting to smuggle a large amount of narcotic pills in a spare tyre in her vehicle at the Abdali border checkpoint between Kuwait and Iraq.
The arrest occurred when customs inspectors noticed irregularities in a vehicle driven by an Iraqi female expatriate arriving in Kuwait.
Inspection using specialised detection tools and a sniffer dog led officers to discover 7,952 Lyrica pills expertly concealed inside a spare tyre in the vehicle.
Both the vehicle and the suspect were detained, and the case has been referred to the competent authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures.
