FUTSAL – BAHRAIN’S women’s futsal national team take on their counterparts from Palestine today in their final qualifying match for the AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup 2025.
The Bahrainis have so far drawn, won, and lost their previous three games and are tied on four points apiece with the Palestinians on the table of qualification Group A, which is being hosted by Thailand.
The pair clash this afternoon with a 12.30pm kick-off, Bahrain time, at Nonthaburi Stadium in the Thai city of Nonthaburi.
A win for either team will secure their place in the continental championship, which will be held in China this May. The possibility still remains for either side to sneak through should they finish third, but that will be dependent on results from other groups.
Thailand are in first place on the standings and have already punched their tickets with nine points, having won all three of their matches so far. The Thais take on Lebanon in the other divisional fixture at 3.30pm, Bahrain time.
Iraq, who are the fifth team in their pool, have already completed their schedule and are also on four points.
Bahrain are one of 19 national teams playing in four different qualification groups for the right to claim one of nine available berths in the AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup. The top two teams from each pool, along with the best third-placed side overall, will book their tickets to the AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup 2025.
The nationals, coached by Brazilian Marcelino Gomes, have a 14-player squad in Thailand, including Hessa Al Isa, Shaikha Alanood Al Khalifa, Manar Ebrahim, Leleeya Sabkar Jawed, Ameera Bader Swar, Fatima Hamad Alnusuf, Rawan Nabeela Alaali, Eman Rashed Alkhatal, Rose Fayez Tobila, Sama Amjad, Amina Hamad Aldoseri, Shoog Abdulhaleem Alalwani, and goalkeepers Zahra Nezar and Hiba Salem Alhabishe.
