A’ali held East Riffa to a 1-1 stalemate last night to kick off the ninth week of play in the 2024-25 Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League.
It was a clash between the two bottom-ranked clubs on the table.
Boucounta Sarr opened East Riffa’s account in first-half stoppage time but then substitute Hassan Oumar Abdelaziz levelled the proceedings for A’ali only four minutes after the re-start.
Following a share of the points, the pair remained in the last two positions on the standings. A’ali went to five points in 11th place while East Riffa improved to two points in last.
In yesterday’s other fixture, Al Malkiya and Manama played to a goalless draw.
Malkiya rose to 13 markers in mid-table while Manama improved to six.
Week nine of league action continues tonight and tomorrow with two matches each evening.
Sitra face off with Bahrain Club and Al Ahli take on Muharraq this evening and then Riffa face Al Shabab and defending champions Al Khaldiya take on Al Najma tomorrow night.
All four games are scheduled for 7pm kick-offs.
