BASKETBALL – Sitra outplayed Isa Town 93-83 last night in the 2024-25 Zain Bahrain Basketball League.
The victors used a game-changing 13-2 run midway through the final quarter to come away with the victory in League B.
They built a lead early in the contest and then did enough to stave off a late rally from their opponents – one in which they took a brief lead before Sitra got back on track. Their decisive rally was capped by an Abdulla Nader three-pointer that gave them an 84-74 advantage with just over three minutes to play.
Isa Town fought back to within five points but came no closer.
Sitra, who led by as many as 14 in the game, were led by the 31 points of skipper Mahdi Abdulameer. Abbas Fadhel Jasim added 18, Ebrahim Murad had 16, and Abdulla Nader scored 12.
For Isa Town, Hussain Mahdi and Abdulla Ali finished with 22 points apiece while Jehad Ahmed scored 13.
With the result, Sitra claimed their third win in six outings in League B while Isa Town suffered their fourth loss in six tries.
