A man from New Jersey has been arrested for allegedly dialling the police 17 times, seeking a ride to a supermarket.
Adam Vaughn, 24, was charged with criminal obstruction and handcuffed after repeatedly calling the police for an escorted visit to a nearby convenience store.
Officers warned him after the first few calls that the line was for emergencies only.
But he persisted and continued calling until police eventually paid him a visit.
His motives remain unclear.
